Wild Cherry Capri Sun recalled due to possible cleaning solution contamination

Elisha Fieldstadt is reporting for NBCNews [dot] com Kraft Heinz announced August 12, it is recalling thousands of cases of Capri Sun, saying the drink pouches might be contaminated with cleaning solution. In a statement, the company said a diluted cleaning solution used on food processing equipment was inadvertently introduced into a production line at one of its factories. Kraft Heinz is recalling about 5,760 cases of the drink, saying the only variety affected was the Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend. Cases contain four cartons, which usually have 10 pouches, meaning more than 230,000 individual drink pouches could have been affected. The “Best When Used By” date on the contaminated cases is June 25, 2023. The issue was discovered after customers complained about the taste of the Wild Cherry Capri Suns.
