Taconic State Park improvements to be unveiled

The Times Union is reporting a recently completed million-dollar renovation project at a local state park is set to be unveiled. The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is showcasing the $1.1 million in improvements made at the Copake Falls section of Taconic State Park in Copake. The project improved the park's entrance road and other infrastructure. An old parking lot was replaced with a lawn for picnicking, as well. The renovation was one of more than 100 launched two years ago at state parks and historic sites across New York as part of a $420 million improvement project. State parks officials are holding a ceremony Fri., July 18, at the new overlook area next to the main parking lot.
