Winter Storm Warning in effect until Tuesday morning

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the WGXC listening area, from 11 a.m. Sun., Dec. 1, through 7 a.m., Tue., Dec. 3. Heavy snow is expected with total accumulations of 10 to 20 inches. The storm will impact the region from southern Vermont, western Massachusetts, the Capital Region, Lake George Saratoga area and the central Taconics of eastern New York. The weather service is warning that travel could be very difficult to impossible, possibly impacting the morning and evening commutes on Monday. Periods of snow are expected Sunday afternoon into Monday night. Snow should be heaviest Sunday afternoon and early evening, with the possibility of sleet mixed in; and again Monday afternoon through Monday night. The National Weather Service advises travelers to pack an extra flashlight, food, and water in their vehicles in case of an emergency. (Link above to audio version of this report.)
