Water main break fixed; boil advisory in effect

May 13, 2015 7:03 am
Kate Seckinger is reporting in The Daily Mail a boil-water advisory is in effect for all residents on the Coxsackie village water system, which includes the village, and portions of the town of Coxsackie and the town of New Baltimore. Mayor Mark Evans said the boil-water advisory will remain in effect at least through May 13. The water will be tested for contaminants Wednesday, before the advisory is lifted. A water main break on Warren Ave. in Coxsackie, May 11, left residents on the village water system without water until May 12. As a direct result of the broken main, the Coxsackie schools were closed; the Greene County YMCA was closed May 12 morning. The break was repaired after the air was flushed out and the system was stabilized. The cause of the break was traced to the storm sewers near Route 9W. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
