David Figura is reporting for NYup [dot] com New York’s bow hunting season for deer and bear kicks off Sept. 27 in the Northern Zone, and on Oct. 1 in the Southern Zone. In addition, the deadline to apply for deer management permits, or doe tags, is fast approaching and hunters must submit their choices in by Oct. 1. Hunters who still need to pick up their license and permits for the 2019-20 season can do so through any of the DEC’s 1,300 outlets statewide, by phone at 866-933-2257, or online through the DECALs website.
