Kinderhook adds state land to park

Emilia Teasdale reports in The Columbia Paper that Kinderhook now owns 77.9 acres behind Volunteer Park off of State Farm Road.
Supervisor Pat Grattan announced that the town got the land from the state at the Kinderhook Town Board Aug. 6. The town had to pay some closing costs on the transfer of the land, but the state did not charge Kinderhook for the property. There may be trails on the land, and there is a road the town currently maintains into Volunteer Park. Kinderhook now has about 100 acres at the park, with baseball and softball fields, a basketball court, soccer fields, a dog park, and a playground. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper
