New Yorkers prefer Bloomberg for president

Bill Mahoney is reporting for Politico New York state voters believe former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would make a better president than over four other Democrats, according to a poll released by Quinnipiac University Jan. 23. Twenty-eight percent of those surveyed liked Bloomberg better for the job than Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who will not be old enough to run in 2020 — and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. However, Cuomo had the best favorability rating, at 50 percent, among the five. The poll also found that voters disapprove of the decision to give state legislators a significant salary increase while limiting their outside income, and they support extending the millionaires' tax. Quinnipiac surveyed 929 registered voters beginning Jan. 16. Read the full story at Politico New York
