HudsonValleyOne [dot] com is reporting Catskill Mountainkeeper, Woodstock Land Conservancy and the Dump Here Never group will host a community forum May 14, to discuss the fight against the construction and demolition dump on Route 212 in Saugerties. A panel of experts will discuss the dump and the efforts to halt its operations. The panel will be moderated by Catskill Mountainkeeper’s Kate Hagerman and include Saugerties Town Supervisor Fred Costello, dump neighbor Mike Ferraro and environmental attorney Emily Svenson. The panel will take questions from the public. Costello will update the community on the challenges the town has faced while trying to implement enforcement actions, Ferraro will give a history of the dump and Svenson will detail some of the state laws the dump is violating.
