The Greenville Pioneer is reporting the Cairo-Durham Board of Education is looking for someone to fill the seat recently vacated by Dean Pectal. Pectal resigned for personal reasons before the end of his term. The board's pending appointment will be temporary and will expire on May 21, 2019. The appointee can choose to run for election and if elected, they would serve through June 30, 2020. Those interested in serving on the board are asked to send a letter of interest to Bridget Agostinoni, board clerk, care of the school district at P.O. Box 780, Cairo, NY 12413. The deadline for submissions is Tue., Nov. 13. Candidates who submit a letter of interest are expected to attend the first portion of the board meeting, Thu., Nov. 15, in the high school media center.
