Sep 28, 2017 2:57 pm
Emilia Teasdale reports for The Columbia Paper that the Ghent/Chatham Area Seniors group, after a seven-month-long standoff, have agreed to a written commitment to protect the town from liability for the group’s activities. In exchange, Town Supervisor Maria Lull will stop withholding the $2,000 budgeted for the group's monthly bus trips. The board also is asking Community Garden member Elisabeth Grace to sign a similar agreement holding the town harmless for using land to garden in Crellin Park. The disc golf club that uses town land behind Town Hall will also be asked to sign a similar agreement. The next regular Chatham Town Board meeting is 6 p.m., Thu., Oct. 19 at the Town Hall on Route 295. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
