Committee OKs supervisors to carry guns

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star the Columbia County Supervisors are considering a policy change to allow supervisors, some elected officials and county officials with pistol permits to carry handguns on county property. County employees are currently prohibited from carrying most weapons on county property. The County Government Committee voted Tues., Apr. 23, to approve the policy change. Hudson Supervisor Ed Cross was the lone dissenter. “I have mixed feelings about it,” Cross said. The issue now goes to the full board for consideration. Read the full story in the Register Star.
