Sinkholes plague Hudson's north side

Joe Gentile is reporting in the Register Star Hudson has developed a sinkhole problem. Maintenance workers appeared early Wed., June 4, on Prospect Street to fix a 2-by-3 foot sinkhole that swallowed a section of roadway between Dodge and North Sixth streets. Road crews are scheduled to return to mend two other sinkholes, early Thursday. No injuries or property damage were reported, but Prospect Street remains closed between Dodge and North Sixth. Public Works Superintendent Rob Perry said another sinkhole, located at Franklin and Prospect, was on the same water main. He said the sinkholes are the direct result of an aged city infrastructure.
