Dems endorse Ruggiero for Dutchess exec

MidHudsonNews is reporting New York State Bridge Authority Executive Director Joseph Ruggiero has resigned and on Feb. 25, was nominated and accepted the Dutchess County Democratic Committee’s endorsement to run for Dutchess County executive. Republican incumbent Marcus Molinaro is expected to announce he will seek another four-year term. Molinaro congratulated Ruggiero on his nomination. “Dutchess County residents deserve a campaign focused on the issues and the future. We should set that example,” Molinaro said. Acting bridge authority executive director Tara Sullivan said Ruggiero “has brought the bridge authority into the 21st century and prepared it for the challenges of tomorrow.” Ruggiero formerly served as Wappinger town supervisor and ran unsuccessfully for county executive against William Steinhaus.
