Music for the Masses: 2020 Discovery Series #1 The Server (Audio)

Jan 26, 2020
In-studio interview with Pratik and Casey (aka P.C.), a couple of adventurers who showed up at the Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) conference this year to share their project, "The Server." According to their bio: "The Server is a communal composition project directed by artist A.D. and produced by P.C. Over three years, P.C. traveled from town to town across the world recording 300+ musicians with a mobile recording rig to form the 'impossible band.'.P.C. treated all of the sources as equal, no matter the genre or style, hi-fi or lo-fi, amateur or professional. The result is eight utopias, or songs, that embody 'not a place' that exists but virtual sonic environments constructed from sound scraps, diamonds, and global trash. This is not the work of one individual author, but a collective expression of a digital/analog short circuit." Let's take a listen together and find out what this is all about!
