Chatham officials to get more zoning input

Jul 03, 2019 12:14 am
Amanda Purcell reports for Columbia-Greene Media that Chatham town officials will listen to the public at least one more time before voting on a new zoning plan. The Chatham Town Board will host a question-and-answer session about the zoning laws at 6 p.m. July 8 at the Tri-Village Fire Company, 111 County Route 13, in Old Chatham. A June 20 town board meeting drew about 130 people, mostly because of the zoning issue. Jeanne Veillette Bowerman of the Chatham United for Common Sense Zoning group said, “It [the zoning laws] seems to be meant for a larger community and doesn’t fit our rural environment.” Others are opposed to restrictions on short-term rentals. After the July 8 special meeting, the town board’s next regular meeting is at 6 p.m. July 18. Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
