Apr 28, 2021 4:23 am

Eric Anderson reports in the Times Union that Amtrak officials have chosen Siemens Mobility to be its "preferred bidder" for 83 new train sets for use on the Northeast Corridor. “This new state-of-the-art equipment will not only provide Amtrak customers with an enjoyable and efficient travel experience, it will also enable us to improve safety, increase passenger capacity and reduce carbon emissions,” said Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn. Amtrak's General Electric locomotives have been in service since between 1975 and 1977. Read more about this story in the Times Union.
