Colarusso fighting January bulkhead order
Nick Olivari is reporting in the Register-Star A. Colarusso and Son is fighting an alleged violation in replacing a concrete and wood bulkhead at the company’s Hudson dock. In Colarusso's February 24 appeal to the city's Zoning Board of Appeals, the company argued the project was done months ago and was fully permitted by federal and state officials, including public notice and comment periods. The company asserts that repairs to the commercial dock were undertaken so that soils, gravel, paving, goods and raw materials on site would be protected from erosion and degradation of water quality, and to eliminate threats to public safety. The Order to Remedy was signed by City Code Enforcement Officer Craig Haigh on Jan. 24. The work was done without approval from the City of Hudson Planning Board, according to the order.
