Kinder Morgan holds public forums about one of three proposed pipelines

Robert Cairns in The Watershed Post reports that Kinder Morgan officials held three community forums about the North East Direct pipeline Wednesday, Dec. 16 about a second natural gas pipeline that may pass through their town. Cairns was a the Dec. 16 event at Franklin Central School in Franklin, a town where the Constitution Pipeline would also pass through if it is approved. Other Northeast Energy Direct public forums were held in Schoharie and Castleton-On-Hudson in Rensselear County. A large crowd turned out in Franklin to hear about the 133-mile pipeline would connect gas wells in Pennsylvania to facilities in the Schoharie County town of Wright, and then head to Massachusetts. At the Schoharie forum, The Daily Star reported that one Schoharie County family will have two pipelines criss-crossing their property if both the Constitution and NED pipelines are built. With the Pilgrim Pipeline also proposed to head south to New Jersey from Albany, through Greene and Ulster counties, it is no wonder the pipelines tracks are crossing.
