Local chef to compete on 'Chopped'

Steve Barnes is reporting for the Times Union Josephine Proul, chef-owner of Local 111 in Philmont, will compete on the Food Network series “Chopped” at 9 p.m., July 14, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The episode, “Beasts and Bourbon,” features four chefs competing in three rounds of mystery-basket cook-offs that all include game meats and bourbon. Past local chefs who have competed on “Chopped” include Michele Hunter of “Hamlet & Ghost” in Saratoga Springs, Krista Espinal of Yono’s/dp: An american Brasserie in Albany and Ric Orlando, formerly with New World Bistro Bar in Albany. Local 111 is scheduled to reopen July 24 and 25. Read the full story in the Times Union.
