Job shuffles at Hudson schools leave two openings

Jeanette Wolfberg is reporting for The Columbia Paper longtime Hudson City School District Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds George Keeler has announced his plan to retire sometime in 2020. Although a specific retirement date has not been set, in anticipation of the change, James Boyle, the newly hired head of maintenance, is working with Keeler, in preparation for taking over as superintendent when the time comes. In another administrative change, Hudson High School associate principal Robert LaCasse has been named to replace Antonio "Tiney" Abitable as principal, and William Wood has joined the staff as the high school's new associate principal. Other building level administrators to resign include Junior High School Associate Principal Alyssa Sabbatino and Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School Associate Principal Lisa Ruud. And Ellen Miller, an 18-year veteran of the district, also retired, effective November 1. Miller grew up in Greenport and is a graduate of Hudson High. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
