The Mid-Hudson News Network reports that Columbia County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the state with a 3.1 percent rate of joblessness in August, down from 3.7 percent a year earlier. Greene County's 4.3 percent unemployment, was down from 5.1 percent the year before. For the 12 months ending in August, the Hudson Valley's unemployment rate was four percent, down from 4.7 percent the year before.
