News10 in Albany reports that Price Chopper, Market 32, and Market Bistro stores will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. for restocking and cleaning beginning March 18. The grocery stores will also be open exclusively to seniors from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. starting March 19. Dollar General stores began dedicating the first hour of each shopping day to seniors on March 17. Stores are giving seniors, thought especially at-risk to the COVID-19 outbreak, a chance to buy toilet paper before hoarders clear the shelves, but say they won't be checking IDs. Mid-Hudson News reports Stop & Shop Supermarkets are opening at 6 a.m. to 7:30 for anyone over the age of 60.
