Dec 10, 2019 1:45 pm
Jeanette Wolfberg is reporting for The Columbia Paper on the November 20 meeting of the Columbia County Community Services Board, a session that included an update on plans for finding a new location for Coarc's special education preschool. Ken Stall, executive director of Coarc, a non-profit organization that provides services for people with disabilities, reported the nonprofit’s special education preschool, The Starting Place, plans to change locations, perhaps to the Galvan Armory, which also houses the Hudson Area Library. It has turned out the work needed to accommodate the program would be more expensive than thought. One reason: each classroom must have its own bathroom. “It’s not the ideal location,” Stall said, citing parking problems and the lack of an outdoor play space.
