Drought conditions lead Rotterdam to restrict water usage

WRBG-Albany is reporting nonessential outdoor water usage is restricted in the town of Rotterdam in Schenectady County. Town officials announced June 20, they are enforcing water conservation measures recommended by the Department of Public Works as a result of severe drought conditions. The restrictions are needed to conserve water resources and maintain supplies required for fire protection. Effective immediately and continuing through July 31, all residential and commercial properties within Consolidated Water District 5 are restricted from unnecessary outdoor water usage.
