Nov 22, 2019 12:17 am
Melanie Lekocevic reports for Capital Region Independent Media in the Greenville Pioneer that the Greenville Town Board unanimously adopted its 2020 budget on Nov. 6 with a tax rate of $6.69 per $1,000 assessed value of the property. “Someone with a $100,000 taxable value on their tax bill will see about a $67 decrease in their tax rate, which does not include any of the special districts,” Town Supervisor Paul Macko said. “There is not a lot of fluff in this budget. There is no unnecessary spending.” An insurance plan has the highway budget up, and the library is set to get an additional $5,228, an increase of 2.54 percent. Greenville is also adding an ambulance district with a tax cost of $1.50 per thousand assessed value of the property. Read more about this story in the Greenville Pioneer.
