Congressional campaign begins locally

Congressman Chris Gibson (R-Kinderhook) kicks off his re-election campaign this weekend with stops in Schoharie and Delaware counties on Sat., July 14, and opening his campaign office in Kingston Mon., July 16. At 11 a.m. Saturday Gibson will march in the Jefferson Heritage Day Parade at Jefferson Central School in Schoharie County. At 3 p.m. Sat., July 14 he'll be at the Sidney Arts & Music Festival on Main Street in Sidney. Mon., July 16 from 6-8 p.m. Gibson opens his campaign headquarters at 612 Ulster Avenue in Kingston with a speech. Gibson faces Democrat Julian Schreibman in November, and Schreibman was at the Athens Street Festival Sat., July 14, interviewed live on WGXC. He will also be at a Democratic fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Thu., July 19 in New Baltimore. The Greene County Democratic Committee hosts Schreibman in a $20-per gathering at Yanni's Cucina on Rt. 144 in New Baltimore.
