Host Neva E. Wartell will be joined in the studio by special guest Sylvain Leroux – one of the world’s notable masters of the tambin, or Fula flute, of the Fulani people of Guinea, West Africa. He brought traditional West African music to a chamber music setting with the Fula Flute Ensemble, curated the Griot Summit series that featured 25 New York City area griots from five countries, and founded a music literacy project and school in Conakry, Guinea. He has performed and recorded with a long list of musical greats including Billy Martin, Adam Rudolph, Karl Berger, Abdoulaye Diabaté, Emeline Michel, Hassan Hakmoun, The Mandingo Ambassadors, Brooklyn Raga Massive, and many others.

Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene.
