Bill Williams and Melanie Lekocevic report for Columbia-Greene Media that a Catskill man, Harold Rivenburgh, was arrested Jan. 31 and charged with 54 counts of second-degree forgery, 54 counts of first-degree false instrument with intent to defraud, and one count of third-degree grand larceny. Rivenburgh was treasurer of the Greene County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, and allegedly defrauded the organization. He is a former chief of the Catskill Fire Department. "While he was associated with the village of Catskill he never had a position where he handled any of our finances,” Catskill Village President Vincent Seeley said. “We have a yearly audit and we had no findings in any year, but specifically any year when Harold was fire chief.” Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
