New York state does not permit high-volume hydraulic fracturing due to health risks as cited by Health Commissioner Howard Zucker. However, more pipelines carrying natural gas mean more transfer and compressor stations, and other infrastructure with cumulative health impacts. Health professionals, residents, elected officials and advocates from across the state are urging Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the state Health Department to address the growing concern this infrastructure build-out has on residents. Susan VanDolsen of Westchester County for Change, and Robert Nied, of the Center for Sustainable Rural Communities, will be in the studio to discuss this issue. Also, state Sen. Dan Squadron will call and talk about the LLC loophole bill currently pending. Call (518) 828-0290 to go on air during the show, or send your comments or questions via email to info@wgxc.org. Or take three minutes and record a question or comment ahead of time at (518) 291-WGXC (9492). Hosted by Cecilia Tkaczyk.
