Lawmakers go after state for Medicaid funds

W. T. Eckert reported in The Daily Mail a lawsuit between Greene County and the state of New York is one step closer following a resolution recently passed by the county Legislature. The county contends the state has evaded reimbursement, or repayment of Medicaid costs. The resolution authorized the hiring of two law firms, from Utiica and from Albany, that specialize in these types of recoveries. The resolution alleged the state attempted to evade payment of reimbursement or repayment obligations for years through non-cooperation of claim denial and extensive litigation.
