Cuomo pushes brakes on impeachment

Andrew Cuomo said last week he is not running for president in 2020, he still has advice for fellow Democrats in Washington D.C. is warning congressional Democrats against impeaching President Donald J. Trump for political gain. On Nov. 30 Cuomo said it would be “terrible for the Democrats” if they launched impeachment proceedings right away in January. “Impeachment to play politics? God no,” Cuomo said. Only if there is evidence of “real criminality” then the governor says impeachment would be the correct course. “It depends on the facts,” he said. So far, special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has indicted or gotten public guilty pleas from 33 people and three companies. That includes five former Trump advisers, 26 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, one California man, and one London-based lawyer. Seven of the 33 have pleaded guilty.
