Matthew Hamilton reports in Capitol Confidential reports, for whoever had wondered about "I voted" stickers handed out at some polling places. State Board of Elections spokesman Tom Connolly says county boards of election purchase the stickers, if they choose to hand them out. There is no legal requirement for or against "I voted" stickers being handed out at elections. The paper found a California county that paid 15 cents apiece for the stickers, and the reporter also found them on Amazon's website at 1.9 cents per sticker. This year the state is spending $13,000 to making 2.5 million special stickers to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New York, and residents can vote on which design they like best.
