Hillsdale installs electric car charging station; Ghent and Chatham on the way

HudsonValley360.com reports that Hillsdale now has an electric vehicle charging station in the parking lot adjacent to the Town Hall, at 2609 State Route 23. This is the first town-installed charging station in Columbia County, according to the online news site. Chatham and Ghent are installing charging stations soon, but the Hillsdale station is now operational around-the-clock, seven days a week. Two vehicles can charge at the same time, free of charge until November 2019. “A key local government role is leading, educating and setting an example of energy efficiency and adaptation,” said Peter Cipkowski, Hillsdale Town Supervisor. “As a Climate Smart Community, Hillsdale is committed to taking the steps necessary to reduce the risks of climate change and reduce its long-term costs at a local level.” Read the full story at HudsonValley360.com.
