Plans for Columbia-Greene ALP move forward

Aug 09, 2013 6:45 am
The Hudson Planning Commission moved the creation of the Columbia-Greene Partnership Academy closer to reality during a special meeting, Thurs., Aug. 8. In front of a standing-room-only crowd, the Commission deemed the site plan application submitted by the Galvan Foundation for 364 Warren Street to be complete. At the same time it unanimously declared a public hearing on the matter was not necessary. Galvan attorney Joe Catalano pressed the Commission to allow construction to begin in advance of application approval, but the request was turned down by Chairman Donald Tillson. The Commission is expected to conditionally approve the plan when it meets next week. Among the conditions expected to be set: Galvan will be expected to come back to the Commission to revisit the site plan if the program continues at that location beyond the current two-year commitment; students' arrivals and departures must be supervised by staff, and the facility must be cleared by 3:30 p.m.; and, Academy staff may not park on Warren Street.
