Jan 05, 2018 3:03 pm
Andrea Macko reports in The Greenville Pioneer that the president of the Greenville school board, Ann Holstein, died Jan. 2. "This is a great loss for the Greenville Central School District," said Superintendent Tammy Sutherland. "Ann was a wonderful advocate who cared deeply for our students, staff and community. For many years, Ann served our school community as both parent and volunteer. Her passion for public education touched many lives. We will miss her dearly." Holstein was on the board for 14 years, and was president since 2014. "Ann's commitment to the children of Greenville went far beyond her involvement and leadership on the School Board, where I've had the privilege of serving with her for the past few years," said Board of Education Member Thomas Connolly. "She opened up her home to host music lessons for our local student musicians and she opened up her heart by always being willing to help out where she could." There are services for Holstein Jan. 6 at the Chapel and Cultural Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. Read the full story in The Greenville Pioneer.
