Catskill Farmers Market to return May 29
Sarah Trafton is reporting for Porcupine Soup the Catskill Farmers’ Market is back. After a three-year hiatus, the weekly market will open at 10 a.m. on May 29, in the parking lot located behind the Greene County Office Building at 411 Main Street. More than 20 vendors have signed up to participate. The market will be held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 9. “We’re pretty excited to be able to provide village, town and county residents — and visitors — with fresh and high-quality products that are grown, raised and produced by local farmers and artisans,” Catskill Farmers Market Committee Vice President Elliott Matos said. When the farmer's market was running years ago in Catskill, it changed locations many times, from on Main Street, to parking lots, and Catskill Point. Other farmers' markets are held in Coxsackie on Wednesday; Lexington every other Saturday; Windham on Saturday; Tannersville on Saturday; Freehold on Thursday; East Durham on the second and fourth Saturday; the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham on Sunday; and Purling on Monday.
