Sale of former Greenport school finalized

Arthur Cusano is reporting in the Register Star the Hudson City School District announced Mon., Mar. 9, it has finalized the sale of the former Greenport Elementary School to a local developer. The deal with Athens-based developer JMS Construction was closed March 2. JMS bought the parcel, which included school buildings on 20 acres of land located on Route 66 in Greenport, for $400,000. The purchase was approved by district voters in May 2014. JMS Construction owner Mark Salomon intends to build a four-story, multi-unit apartment building on the site.
