Sarah Trafton reports for Columbia-Greene Media that a $10 million, four-story hotel and resort on Brooks Lane in Jefferson Heights attached to the Catskill Golf Course was approved by the Catskill town planning board on Aug. 13. “It’s going to be an amenity hotel,” Catskill Golf Course owner David Vipler said. “And the amenity is not just golf. It’s going to be a pool, it’s going to be wiffle ball and possibly a tennis court.” Vipler was approved for a special-use permit for Catskill Golf Course with 14 conditions after residents raised concerns at a July 11 public hearing. “There will be no-parking signs on both sides of Brooks Lane,” Town Planning Board Chairman Joseph Izzo said on Aug. 14. “We plan on breaking ground in the spring and anticipate 15 to 20 months of construction,” Vipler said.
