New York State comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released his list of school districts in fiscal stress Jan. 25, and Rhinebeck is the only local school district with problems. Rhinebeck was listed as in "moderate stress," according to the report. Last year Kinderhook and Catskill improved from "susceptible" to no designation, and Hunter-Tannersville schools went from "significant" fiscal stress to no designation.
