DMV, tax deadlines extended

Rick Karlin is reporting at Capitol Confidential in the wake of this week's storm, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has suspended or extended several deadlines for a variety of mundane tasks. The State Department of Motor Vehicles renewal deadlines have been extended for residents of New York City, and in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties. The State Department of Taxation and Finance also announced the extension of certain tax filing and payment deadlines. All 62 New York counties are eligible for these extensions since Cuomo declared a statewide of state of emergency, and President Obama authorized federal aid and assistance for the state.
