Feb 14, 2019 12:17 am
Patricia R. Doxsey reports in The Daily Freeman that Ulster County Legislator Hector Rodriguez announced a few days ago that he would not seek another term. On Feb. 13 Rodriguez posted an apology on Facebook for communicating with women in a way that "made them uncomfortable.... I am sorry. I offer no excuse, nor any defense," he wrote. "I am still learning the details at this time about those I may have offended or hurt," the eight-term, New Paltz-based Democrat wrote. Rodriguez had previously claimed he was not seeking another term because the office "took a personal toll on me for many years" and that he was "looking forward to taking time after this term to take stock and live a better life."
