Legislators working on budget in Albany

Mid-Hudson News reports that state lawmakers in both the Senate and Assembly are now working out budget proposals with the April 1 deadline for approval getting near. Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed a $233 billion spending plan, but the legislature always has their own agendas. On March 18, state Senator James Skoufis said, “We’re in the midst of budget negotiations.” Legislators often miss the April 1 deadline, but the budget usually passes soon after in Albany.
