The Senate is Republican-led, in a partnership with seven defecting Democrats, so local Republicans George Amedore and Kathy Marchione lead several committees. Amedore leads the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse committee, and the Science, Technology, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Select Committee, while Marchione chairs the Local Government committee. Amedore sits on the Banks; Consumer Protection; Elections; Judiciary; Social Services; and the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs committee. Marchione is a member of the Aging; Cultural Affairs and Tourism; Elections; Finance; Racing, Gaming and Wagering; and Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs.
