NTSB to announce safety recommendations in Schoharie limo crash

WRGB-TV in Albany is reporting the National Transportation Safety Board has uncovered safety issues relating to occupant protection in their investigation of the October 2018 Schoharie limousine crash. CBS6 is reporting the agency will release safety recommendations in the next three weeks. Possible measures might involve seatbelt use or side impact airbags. Both were suggested by Sen. Charles Schumer in May when he called for the NTSB to prioritize safety reforms. The NTSB has not yet determined probable cause in the crash that killed 20 people. Agency spokesperson Eric Weiss said probable cause has been held up by delays caused by the Schoharie County District Attorney.
