Today's Albany corruption update

Some days the news about corruption in Albany comes faster then usual. Today was one of those days:
• New York State Senator John Sampson's trial on federal corruption charges, which was scheduled to begin this week, has been delayed until June 22, Capitol Confidential reports. Sampson is serving in the senate in the meantime.
• Former New York State Senator Malcolm Smith was found guilty Thu. Feb. 5 of all charges related to a bribery scheme in which the Queens Democrat tried to score the Republican line in the 2013 New York City mayoral race, according to Captital Confidential.
• New York taxpayers will fork over $545,000 to victims of sexual harrassment from former Brooklyn assemblyman Vito Lopez, according to Capitol Confidential. Lopez will be required to pay an additional $35,000.
