Hillsdale Town Board passes short-term rental law

Lorna Cherot Littleway is reporting for The Columbia Paper the Hillsdale Town Board December 10, adopted Local Law 2, a measure to regulate short-term rentals. The law requires all short-term rental, or Airbnb owners to register their properties and to obtain a permit, at the cost of $50, every year. Also, the owner, manager or authorized representative of the property, must live within 20 miles of the rental location. Short-term rental properties will also be subject to periodic and on-the-spot inspections. Property owners will have six months to comply with the new law. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
