Challenge to 'Green Light' bill continues

David Lombardo reports in the Albany Times Union that the state Association of County Clerks asked state DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder dozens of questions in a letter earlier this month about a new state law allowing undocumented migrants to receive drivers licences. In June, more than 30 New York county clerks asked President Donald J. Trump to direct the U.S. Justice Department to review the new law. And clerks from Erie and Rensselaer counties filed federal lawsuits this summer to block the law. Last week, state Attorney General Letitia James moved to try the Rensselaer case in the western district court, in an effort to consolidate both cases into one.
