Albany County expands Styrofoam ban

On Sept. 12 Albany County Executive Dan McCoy signed the law expanding a foam-based product ban in the county. The Albany Times Union reported earlier that the Albany County Legislature voted Aug. 13, 23-13 for a more complete polystyrene ban in the food service industry. Now businesses that used Styrofoam products will need to switch to recyclable, or compostable, materials or face fines. Read the full story in the Albany Times Union.
