Rachel Silberstein at Capitol Confidential profiles Republican Attorney General candidate Manny Alicandro, who, interviewed before incumbent Democrat Eric Schneiderman resigned May 8, said he wanted to “depoliticize the office.” Schneiderman, who resigned after the New Yorker published a story alleging he had slapped and choked four women, had filed over 100 lawsuits against President Trump and the federal government, and Alicandro does not think New York taxpayers should be paying for all that legal action.
