Dangerous heat, humidity headed this way

Aug 09, 2021 12:33 pm

Roger Hannigan Gilson reports in the Times Union that dangerous heat and humidity is coming to the Hudson Valley this week. Temperatures will be in the low 90s, but the heat index counting in the humidity could reach 105 degrees. Officials warn folks to stay hydrated, use air conditioning, and seek immediate medical attention if they develop the symptoms of heat stroke, including a throbbing headache, confusion, and if one stops sweating in hot conditions. There are also expected to be strong storms passing through the area Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. "It's too soon to know if they will be strong or severe, but it's something we're going to be monitoring throughout the week," meteorologist Brett Rathbune said.
